Red Deer stalking has carried on at Invercauld since the 1800s and continues today in some of the most dramatic countryside in the Grampian Mountains.

One, two or three ‘rifles’ are accompanied by a Stalker, who will select appropriate stags or hinds. The stag season starts in late July and ends in late October with the hind season continuing until February.

Roebuck are stalked from the end of May when their horns are clean of velvet.
They are hunted mostly at dawn and dusk when they are moving from cover to the feeding areas.
